Bikini Wax Aftercare: What to Do (and What to Avoid)
So, you’ve just had your wax — you’re smooth, fresh, and feeling fab. Now what?
Taking care of your skin after your wax is just as important as the wax itself. Here’s everything you need to know to keep things calm, clear, and irritation-free.
Right After Your Wax:
✔️ I’ll apply a soothing post-wax lotion suited to your skin
✔️ You’ll leave with zero stickiness and a whole lot of glow
✔️ I’ll let you know if your skin looks extra sensitive and tailor my advice
For the First 24–48 Hours:
🚫 Avoid hot baths, showers, steam rooms, or saunas
Your skin’s more sensitive and heat can irritate or inflame the area.
🚫 No tight leggings or underwear
Stick to loose, breathable cotton to prevent rubbing and ingrowns.
🚫 Skip the gym, swimming pool, or sexy time
Let your skin rest — give it a full day to settle.
🚫 Hands off!
Avoid touching the area. No scrubbing, shaving, or picking.
What to Do Instead:
💧 Keep it clean and dry
A gentle rinse with cool water is plenty.
🌿 Use a soothing, fragrance-free moisturiser
Or try the aftercare product I recommend in salon — specially chosen to calm, not clog.
🧽 Exfoliate gently — but wait a few days
After 3–4 days, start lightly exfoliating 2–3 times a week to prevent ingrown hairs.
And Remember:
✅ Book your next appointment in 4–6 weeks
✅ Avoid shaving in between — it throws off the growth cycle
✅ If anything doesn’t feel right, message me — I’m always here to help
Waxing is only part of the glow-up — proper aftercare keeps your skin smooth, happy, and bump-free.
